A native of Syracuse, NY, Dr. Bilbo received his undergraduate education at Colgate University. He then pursued graduate education in biochemistry and his Doctorate in Medicine at the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University, in Syracuse. His post-doctoral education included two years of general surgery residency and four years of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In 2008, Dr. Bilbo completed board recertification in Orthopaedic Surgery with Sports Medicine Specialization.

Dr. Bilbo has long standing relationships with many institutions and organizations in our community. He is a clinical Instructor in orthopaedic surgery for the St. Elizabeth Family Practice Residency Program and helped educate many of the physicians in our community. Since 1986, he has been head team physician and orthopaedic surgeon at Northern Kentucky University (NKU). In 2003, he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition for his service to NKU. He serves as medical director of the Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Program at NKU, and serves as team physician at Newport Central Catholic High School (NCC). He is also the team physician and consultant for the professional Cincinnati Kings soccer team and the Kings Soccer Academy. In 2011, Dr. Bilbo was named "Sports Medicine Person of the Year" by the Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society.  In 2012, he was inducted into the NCC Athletic Hall of Fame for his service to the school.

Dr. Bilbo cares for a wide range of orthopaedic problems of the shoulder, elbow, arm, knee, leg, ankle and foot. He specializes in sports medicine injuries, comprehensive care of athletes, and treatment of complex knee and shoulder problems in the athlete and non-athlete, including advanced techniques in arthroscopic surgery and ligament and cartilage reconstructive surgery, nonsurgical treatment and rehabilitation.

When he's not seeing patients or working with athletes, Dr. Bilbo enjoys snow skiing and gardening.

Dr. Bilbo performs surgery at St. Elizabeth Healthcare facilities and has served in various medical staff leadership roles with St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
