Dr. Larkin graduated magma cum laude from the University of Kentucky Medical School. He did his general and orthopaedic surgery training at Yale University, where he was also a clinical instructor. He did a year of fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic surgery. He then taught at the University of Chicago Medical School for four years, where he also practiced orthopaedic surgery. He returned in 1991 to Cincinnati and now practices in Northern Kentucky. He is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who has worked in occupational and sports related injuries for over fifteen years. His practice specializes in arthroscopic and total joint surgery. He lectures regularly on the management of work related injury, employee fitness, health trends in occupational injuries, arthritis, and reconstructive surgery. He has developed proprietary software for medical management of these injuries, which is used nationally. He is the Chairman of the Ohio Governor’s Advisory Board for Workers’ Compensation. He sits on the legislative committees of both the Ohio State Medical Society and the Northern Kentucky Medical Society. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr Larkin is past president of the Academy of Medicine of Greater Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Orthopaedic Society.
